Player guides

Guides for people who play games through coilbox. To install it, see Install on the home page.

Play

  • Singleplayer battles. Set up a battle against AI opponents, start it, and carry on from a saved game.
  • Sign in and chat. Create an account on a lobby server, log in to one or more servers, and chat in channels and direct messages.
  • Multiplayer battles. Find and join a battle, host one on a lobby server or straight from your computer, and play with other people.
  • Campaigns and scenarios. Play a campaign one mission at a time, play a scenario on its own, and import ones somebody shared.
  • Replays. Find a replay, watch it, read its players, chart, build orders, map and chat, and analyse it.
  • Career and player stats. See your progress in each game, your record and achievements, and your record against another player.
  • Battle presets. Save a battle setup, from singleplayer, a multiplayer room, a conquest or a Warpath fight, and play it again.
  • Galactic conquest. Take a map one battle at a time, on a galaxy of stars, a theatre chart, cities or provinces.
  • Warpath. Cross a map once, unlocking units and perks as you go, until you beat the boss or run out of health.
  • Replay rewind. Watch a replay in the engine and seek, play backward and change speed, and what recording costs in time and disk.

Library

  • Maps, games and units. Look through the maps and games you have installed, see how a map is played, read and compare a game's units, and find a game or map that is not listed.
  • Base blueprints. Draw a layout of buildings, place it in a match with the in-game widget, save a base you built, and share blueprints on the hub.

Set up

  • Get games, maps and engines. Download maps, map packs, games and engines, install a file you already have, choose the folders coilbox reads and saves to, and free up space.
  • Settings and keybinds. Change the game's graphics, sound and controls, edit keybinds, keep copies of your settings, find the engine log after a crash, and set up notifications and updates.
  • Portable mode. Run coilbox from one folder, next to skylobby or another lobby, without touching your other settings.

Share

  • The Coilbox hub. Find and import what other players have shared, publish your own challenges, scenarios, blueprints and setup packs, and see what coilbox sends to the hub.
  • Community hub. Browse presets, challenges, scenarios and blueprints other players have shared, and import them.
